dempster.spring.jpgThe Cubs have their first game today with Ryan Dempster taking the mound against the Giants at 3:05 pm (EST). The Giants will counter with Noah Lowry so that will be an early test for Kosuke Fukudome. Not too much is happening around Cubs camp right now.....Ronny Cedeno is dealing with some soreness in his right elbow but they are attributing that to all the throwing he's done in camp so far. He'll be playing third base today as Aramis Ramirez takes a day off.....Fukudome hasn't been given the green light to steal just yet, but he says he expects to steal 15-20 bases this season. I'll believe that when I see it.....As detailed yesterday, here are the plans for today for the Cubs:

Shortstop Ryan Theriot will lead off followed by third baseman Ronny Cedeno, right fielder Kosuke Fukudome, first baseman Derrek Lee, left fielder Matt Murton, catcher Geovany Soto, Cintron at second and center fielder Felix Pie.

Ryan Dempster will start the first game, and he was scheduled to throw two innings. He'll be followed by Sean Gallagher. Other pitchers available include Neal Cotts, Jose Ceda, Carmen Pignatiello, Jose Ascanio and Kevin Hart.

Most importantly, let's get through these games healthy.
